I've known Marc on and off for about 5 years, since shortly after I met Tree (#122) and Helen (#95). At Tree (#122) and Tom's (#5) on Saturday night he was the only one there who had not been in the project, so he very kindly agreed to be that day's portrait.

...you are quite correct :-)

The lens in question __can__ have a very short depth of field indeed, and that is partly governed by how close you get to the subject as well. I did __mean__ to do it that way, but I completely respect that it's not what everyone likes and it's not always what I'm after either. Still experiments are one of the ways to keep this thing fresh and so I got very close to Marc with a very wide aperture and focused on his eyes and voilà - I got what I came for. :-)

Yah that's wha I thought. I assumed you had planned it that way- especailyl as quite a few of your other portraits are similar!
