James is the singer for "The Freezing Fog", which is the band that my brother, Ed (#230), is in, along with Dave (#60), Liam (#200) and Todd (not yet appearing). Last night I nipped down to Cardiff to Clwb Ifor Bach with Cathy (#7) and Neil (#10) to see The 'Fog play and check in with my brother, and take some performance pictures of The 'Fog and the band they are on their mini-tour with, Manatees. Was well worth the effort. The 'Fog's set, though short was tighter than I have heard them play live before and I really enjoyed the new songs that they did, as well as the big finish on "The Blacksmith's Lament". The Cardiff locals seemed to appreciate the fare as well, so that's all good :-) It seems only fair to comment that Manatees, though very different in style, also provided a great sound experienced, reminiscent of Sunn O))) and Isis, that I personally enjoyed, and overall seemed to be well received. It was a long way to drive for an hour of music, but even this morning, knackered and about to embark on a weekend of work, I have to say that I'm glad we did it.
